This Madrid-born actor began his professional career on the small screen in series such as A step forward, Los serrano, Hospital central, La Señora, Lex, Inocentes or Tierra de Lobos.

He made his film debut with Segundo Asalto (2005), a movie set in the world of boxing that earned him a Goya Award nomination for Best New Actor. In 2007 he was directed by José Luis Garci in the movie Luz de domingo. Later, he decided to move to Great Britain to perfect his level of English and, while there, he went to a casting that earned him a grand entrance to Hollywood playing the character of Riptide in the blockbuster X-men: first generation (2011). Back in Spain, he plays a young neo-Nazi in Alacrán enamorado (2013) and shoots the action thriller Combustión, where he shares the limelight with Adriana Ugarte, his current girlfriend.
 

Personal life

Among his former best known is the singer Chenoa. They met when the singer made a cameo in Central Hospital, a series in which Álex worked. Their relationship barely lasted a year and much commented was the phrase that the actor launched referring to the singer: I love Laura and I hate Chenoa. He had a relationship with Adriana Ugarte but love ended and now everyone is on her side, both with the full schedule of projects in film and television.
