Biography Beyoncé

Beyoncé

The one who was a member of the Destiny Child trio before her resounding success alone grew up in the area of the United States known as the Bible Belt, a deeply religious and conservative area around Houston. It is not uncommon, therefore, that Beyoncé Giselle Knowles began singing in the choir of her parish, St. John's Methodist Church. Her qualities as a singer are so evident to everyone that her family decides to bet on it and enroll her in various artistic training schools while looking for a musical label for the girl that will launch her to stardom.

Which will happen when Beyoncé joins her forces with Kelly Rowland, LaTavia and Le Toya Luckett to form Destiny Child (quartet at first, trio with Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle Williams later). The year is 1997 and until 2002 the group will work. From there Beyoncé embarks on a solo career always in an upward direction. Her first big hit is already part of pop history (and, like so many other hits, it has the Jay-Z stamp): Crazy in love.

But personally, the path to success would take its toll on Beyoncé. The tensions within Destiny Child, where her egos collided at every moment, added her to recurrent depressions since 2000.

Luckily love saves the diva from catastrophe and her union with Jay-Z becomes one of the strongest in the music industry. Both begin a romantic relationship in 2002 and marry in Paris in 2008. In 2012 they have their first daughter: Blue Ivy Carter. They are the great pop couple, billionaires to the point that Beyoncé gave her husband a $ 50 million jet for Father's Day and a $ 80,000 Barbie with diamonds for her birthday. Her lifestyle is part of an African-American culture of success based on the permanent display of money. As for pre-Jay-Z boyfriends or flirtations, as a good daughter of the Bible Belt territory, nothing at all. Beyoncé claims that she lost her virginity to the rapper. Amen.

Either way, Beyoncé and Jay-Z don't forget her commitment to America's black community. In 2013, on the occasion of the acquittal of an armed vigilante who killed the young black Trayvon Martin, the couple attended the massive demonstration of rejection that was called in New York. They have also shown that certain impositions of US foreign policy matter very little to them. In that same 2013 they traveled to Cuba, where they could be photographed enjoying the island's excellent cigars. The scandal for having flown into enemy territory par excellence was such that there was even a group of Republican congressmen who proposed to toughen the law to punish those who step on Cuban soil as Americans.

Beyoncé has a sister, Solange Knowles, who occasionally performed as a Destiny Child girl and is currently pursuing a solo music career.
